Big Al loses a friend
Life is very short. We tend to take it for granted. You wake up, go to work, see your coworkers, hang out with your friends and then go to sleep and then do it all over again the next day. Very rarely do you think that those people that you interact with everyday may not be there come tomorrow. Today, I found out that one of my closest friends at my old company passed away very unexpectedly.
Craig was going through a bad divorce over the last 2 years in Plano, Texas. I'd see him whenever I went down there and I tried to make time whenever he was over here in the Bay Area. On one occasion, our jobs brought us over to England where we spent an entire week there goofing off. I'd call him about once a month just to check up on him and to see how the court proceedings were going. I believe I sent him a text message on December 25th wishing him a Merry Christmas.
From the news reports that I've seen, it looks like his ex-wife placed a hit on him and succeeded when a man shot Craig and his girlfriend on December 26 while they were entering their garage. The girlfriend survived and relayed enough information to the police. Luckily his two daughters were not there. It's so sad to see such a senseless killing.

Craig - I wish I knew about this sooner. I wish I called you more often. I love you buddy!
