Big Al witnesses a Ho finally settle down

Of all of my friends from the Santa Clara class of 2001 to get married, Annora is the first of them to not have a penis. Now that I think of it, she may be my only non-penis friend of all my friends to get married. So mark Saturday, August 18th as a Big Al First!

(Rocky and his beautiful baby girl, Annora)

This was one of my favorite weddings. This occurred for several reasons:
1. We had open bar right after the ceremony.
(Mr. Annora, Big Al, Mr. Jamie & Mr. Karen... which one of them is going out this weekend?)

2. We had a boat load of food and open bar all night at the reception.
(Dirty Al and the "Ho")

3. Rocky, Annora's Dad, had the best Father of the Bride speech ever. I can't recall the exact details, but he goes on saying that he remembered one specific night where the two were in Annora's room and they were making a lot of "noise". Awesome! If anybody has the transcript of his speech please send it over.
(Big Al and Rocky - the bestest speech writer EVER!!!)

It was great to see the Fonganator and Shirley from the days of Santa Clara again. I have one more wedding in September before I close out my 2007 wedding season. Congrats to Mike and Annora. May your lives be full of happiness and children. May the first one be named Big Al. Have a fun Labor Day weekend. Stay safe and stay off the Bay Bridge.

Big Al apologizes for the lack of updates... again

I apologize for my lack of updates. A few things on my list that I need to update:
1. Madrid Trip
2. Annora & Mike's Wedding
3. Crazy 4 alarm fire that was about 2 blocks from my house

My hard drive also crashed which had most of my photos. I have been pretty lazy to fix it. I'll work on that tonight.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a little teaser of good things to come. The other day, I came across This website has a Way Back Machine. It takes snapshots of your homepage. Almost 5 years ago, I made this post:

Q - I love you man! But this was way too good to pass up.
All - I can't be the bearer of the "Ring". I ask that you make a copy of the photo and save it on your hard drives so that future generations will forever remember the Great Q.

Big Al sees Frenchy talk to girls for the 1st time... in Valencia

Espana 2007 continues to Valencia. After the departure of Steve and Steve back to the USA and Kevin to Norweigia, Frenchy and Big Al continue their adventure to Valencia - a semi-large city on the Mediterranian. This city is actually pretty cool. Lots of night life in the city center, lots of stag parties (aka Bachelor Parties) and even a few strip clubs such as Sala Maxx.

(Sala Maxx - where a little more than $100 can get you "anything you want")

For those that aren't familiar with overseas strip clubs, they are not the same as those you see in the US. The typical gentleman's club here are usually to get a look at boobies hugging a stripper pole and maybe a cheap thrill in the curtained rooms. Strip clubs abroad are anything but stripping. Frenchy and I jumped in to a cab and were driven to Sala Maxx where you can get anything for 75 Euro. Luckily I was so broke that I could barely afford the 10 Euro Heineken (That's about $15 US).

(Too bad we're rated PG-13. Be sure to get the Big Al Gone Wild DVD)

We spent most of the time on the beaches where tops were completely optional. Some people were obviously thinking that they were God's gift to this world, but in reality they should have have been arrested by the bikini-police.

(Man Thongs - Big Al's choice of Valencian outerwear)

Valencia was a more popular city than I expected. I thought it was more of a pass-thru city where you spend a couple of days and then move on to other places in Spain. In reality it has a booming tourist industry where people come for a week at time and some usually spend their bachelor or bachelorette parties here.

(Julie, Patricia & Frenchy. Frenchy is getting a boner now after buying $50 in drinks for them.)

As you know, Frenchy has no game whatsoever. So I had to introduce him to our new Columbian friends - Julie and Patricia. They didn't speak much English. Frenchy must have said something because they eventually left and went to meet their boyfriends. At least I was there to witness Frenchy speaking to his first females ever (keep in mind that he also is wearing his Man-ring from his boyfriend in Pamplona).
(Valencia get's Big Al's Point of Approval. Check out the background. Notice all the guys that Frenchy attracts.)

Last stop Madrid!

Big Al almost catches #756

I'll get back to my Spain trip soon, but I have to talk about one of the Bay Area's most talked about event, Barry Bonds' 756th homerun, and how it relates to me. So Barry finally hit the homerun that was expected for awhile on Tuesday, August 7th. Matt Murphy of New York happened to be in the stands that evening while on a layover to Australia. According to KNBR 680, the Giant's Flagship radio station, a female called in to say that she was a season ticket holder for Section 144, Row 3, Seats 19 & 20. Mr. Murphy happened to have caught the ball in Section 144, Row 5, approximately seat 19. For 2005 & 2006, I owned Section 144, Row 6, Seat 18 & 19. In my mind, I say the what if's. However, at the end it wasn't meant to be. Anyway, here's a picture of the view from my seats.

Big Al's Spain adventures continue by eating Filipinos in Barcelona

So I must complete what I started last month. First off Barcelona.

(Big Al making his mark in front of Olympic Stadium - home of the 1992 Barcelona Games.)

We left Pamplona on the night of July 8th where we then spent 3 days in Barcelona. It was hard to pull Frenchy and Steve away from Pamplona because they met a couple of special friends there.

(Frenchy's boyfriend who game Frenchy a ring before we left - no lie.)

The highlights of Barcelona were the Segrada Familia and a long walking tour of the 1992 Olympic sights and a celebrity sighting of Scarlet Johanson who was filming a movie on the beach of Barcelona with Woody Allen and of course the topless beaches.

(Add Scarlette Johanson to a list of many celebrities that Big Al has encountered on his adventures - including MC Hammer and Naomi Watts.)

Barcelona is a very kick back town. We didn't get the opportunity submerse ourselves in the party of Barcelona too much, but I would rank it #4 of 4 of the cities we went to during the trip:
1. Pamplona (just because of the festival)
2. Madrid
3. Valencia
4. Barcelona
However, this isn't a fair assessment, so for all future Barcelona travelers please provide me feedback. I can only imagine how crazy the city is when FC Barcelona plays host to Real Madrid during futbol season.

(It looks like eating Filipinos in Espana is a common thing... I ate some and they were pretty good.)

Valencia and Madrid are up next. Thanks for visiting!
