Big Al is putting blogging on hold

I'm putting the blogging on hold right now. I hope you all can understand. My relationship with Jo hasn't been the best lately. It looks like it's the end of the road for the both of us, so I need some time to bum around and lay in my filth until it gets out of the system. It may be a day, or a week, or a month or even years before I start blogging again. Just kidding. I promise I'll blog sooner than later, so please continue visiting.

Over the years, I've found blogging to be rather therapeutic. I used to keep my feelings to myself, but I found that talking with others whether it's in person or through the Internet has made life less stressful. For those that keep it bottled inside, give it a try... talk with somebody. Talk with your friends. It's their job to listen. However, be careful when somebody offers you advice. Make your own decisions.

Over the last few days, I've been hanging out in the gym and playing sports to relieve my anxiety. To some degree it works, but when the dust settles I'm back to square one. People say it'll get better. I've found that it gets worse. I do know that it'll get better soon.

Nobody is to blame for the breakup. I learned a lot from this. I learned a lot about myself. First, I learned that you gain weight in a relationship (I'm working on it). I also learned that hindsight is truly 20/20. I see now that I could have made more sacrifices. I could have done "this" or done "that" to make matters better. I could have been more patient. But I do think I did a pretty good job on my end, but only Jo knows that answer.

Knowing what I know now and given an opportunity to go back in time, I'd make the same choice over again. Jo is a great person. Somebody I really thought I was going to grow old with. I truly loved her. You'll never hear me say bad stuff about her because she is a wonderful person. The truth is that Jo is a very special and will make somebody happy. I'm glad that she shared her time, kindness and love with me.

For those that have been in love, it's such an indescribable feeling that can't be bought or can't be faked. Now I realize that you can't take love for granted because it can be taken away from you at a moment's notice. If you ever see Jo around, say hi to her. Ask her how's she's doing. All I ask of you is to keep it to yourself for awhile. =)

Anyways, I'll be around. Drop by my house. Give me a call. Shoot me an email. Send me an IM. Some days are better than others. Actually, some minutes are better than others. I may or may not want to go out or see you, so I hope you can understand. Thanks to everybody for all of your help. Just having somebody there to listen to me makes me feel better.

Big Al celebrates his 250th post with Bull... sh!t

The is proud to have made it's 250th posting today, most of which came in the last 18 months. We'd like to thank all of daily visitors for making this place their virtual happy home.

(Big Al participates in Running of the Cows... a little known event during the party madness of Pamplona.)

So despite my disappointment in not actually running with the bulls in Pamplona, it was an amazing sight to see over 1 million people congregate in this little town. People were partying, drinking, dancing and yelling at all hours of the night. I have never seen a party like this, nor do I have a desire to do so again. There were so many people that there were not enough hotel rooms, so most people slept in their cars or camped out in the parks in city.
("No time to sleep. Must party!")

(The partying only stops when you have to go #1 or #2... which usually happens on the streets.)

More updates from Spain to come including Big Al's adventures in Barcelona & and the nude beaches of Valencia. Be sure to drop by for more updates.

Big Al runs the bulls... well.. not really

So after 2 full attempts in the city center of Pamplona, Big Al and Frenchy of failed to actually run the bulls. It wasn't for lack of an attempt as we tried. However, given that Pamplona went through it's largest population influx ever (approximately at 1 million visitors), we hardly stood a chance.
(Frenchy and Big Al getting ready for nothing)

We made an attempt on Saturday and Sunday morning, and we were met with the riot police evacuating people from the area. Thousands of people were packing the bull route every morning and they obviously couldn't have that many people in the area otherwise the bulls would have no where to run. Unfortuantely, we were one of the many sections of the run that were removed from the path.
(Pamplona Five-Oh doing their job)

We tried to make up for it that day by going to the bull ring to watch the runners challenge the little baby bulls and we ended Saturday night by watching the real professional bullfights were we saw 4 large bulls eat it.
(The lucky individuals that made it into the arena to fight with the baby bull.)

I'm obviously disappointed that we couldn't make the run. However, we weren't the only ones who couldn't make the run. Maybe in 20 years I'll come back and give it another shot.

Big Al is getting ready to run... with the Bulls

So after 20+ hours of travel, 3 flights and a train ride, Big Al finally made it to Pamplona.  Big Al joined up with and the real life 4nyay's to Run with the Bulls.

(Big Al has made a new Spanish friend)

The running will start exactly at 8am on Saturday, 7/7/07.  It's an 832 meter course, but we'll probably start about halfway in at "Dead Man's Curve".  The total run lasts anywhere from 2 minutes 30 seconds to about 5 minutes depending on the bulls mood.  The run was made popular by Earnest Hemmingway and its original purpose was to move the bulls from their keeping grounds into the arena for the bull fights.  It has since become a spectacle.

(Hopefully this isn't a sign of what's to come for Big Al and Frenchy.)

Big Al is graced with the Kwik-E-Mart

I guess The Simpson's movie is starting their marketing campaign by remaking some of the 7-11's into Kwik-E-Marts. Check out the story:

One of my friends happened to go out to the one in Mountain View last night.

No sightings of Bart and Milhouse OD'ing on Squishee.
