Big Al goes this his final 2006 Giant's game

Pending some last minute schedule changes, Friday night's 4-3 loss to the LA Dodgers was my last Giant's game of the season. I have no clue what my record for this season was as I probably went to 20-30 games this year. They won some and lost some. Oh well.. World Series 2007!

Here's one last image that I think summed up the season. Matt went with me to the game on Friday. This is him smiling on the right. Notice the female Giant's fan in front of him. Enjoy!

Going out with ye 'ole co-workers

Just a short post today. Went out with the old co-workers from McAfee today at Monster Sushi in Mountain View. Here's a pic of Wilson and I:Photo courtesy of Stevie G. of this planet's hottest blog climbing the charts SteveNation.

Blog Etiquette - Is there such a thing?

So I've been out of the blog scene lately. Sorry to my fans (all 4 of you). Anyways, I'm going to make an attempt at back tracking my life. This probably goes against all the rules of proper blogger, but who cares? This is a chronicle of my life. So over the next few days I'll see what I can recall. Enjoy!

The end of San Shou Kickboxing... for now

So there comes a time when all good things come to an end. Thursday, 9/28 was my last day at Cung Le's Martial Arts Training. The gym is reorganizing itself. I won't get back to working out until November so I'll decide what I want to do then. To all of my friends at Cung Le's gym... farewell & keep in touch!

Greetings from Houston

So I was in Houston this past weekend (9/22-9/24) for a little "work". I was able to check off Minute Maid Park off the list of MLB ballparks that Big Al has visited. Anyways, the Astros won 7-4, but I left at the 8th inning when the 'stros were up 4-3. Apparently, their closer gave up 1 run to the Cards and then Aubrey Huff hit a 3 run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th. Oh well. At least I beat traffic.

The rest of the weekend went great for "work". I was able to meet up with a bunch of vendors and potential customers. We'll see what happens in the next few months.

A few highlights of my trip:
Minute Maid Park
The Gallaria Mall (3rd largest in the company according to the Taxi driver)
Fogo de Chao Houston - This is 4 of 7 on my national Fogo de Chao tour. I have also been to the Dallas, Atlanta & Chicago outlets.

I had a mix-up in my departure airports on Sunday, 9/24. For the first time ever I attempted to get to the airport 2 hours early. (I usually get there 5 minutes early). For those unfamiliar with the Houston area, they have 2 airports - HOU & IAH. IAH is there big airport. I happened to fly in & out of HOU because I had to bounce out of Dallas (DFW) to get to San Jose. My shuttle picks me up at 8:50am for my 12:00pm flight. About 10am I find myself at IAH. To make a long story short, I had a special drive from IAH to HOU courtesy of the shuttle company with a little yelling on my behalf.

The Big Al 49er Experience

First off... much props to Teri. She hooked me up with 2 tickets and parking for the 49ers game on Sunday, 9/17 vs. the St. Louis Rams.

This is my first game of the year with the traditional tailgate party. Natalie came out to join in the festivities. Others that were there were Paul, Jenn, Billy & too many others that I can't name - sorry guys. We got to SF about 8am. There was a little problem starting off b/c Teri hooked us up with VIP parking and so we couldn't park my car next to the others. The menu included short ribs, oysters, chicken, tequila, vodka & beer.

A good time was had by all, especially me. I threw up around the 2nd quarter.

Next game - 11/5 vs. the Vikings. Anybody interested?

Big Al wishes Judd a big happy birthday

So today was a pretty busy day. Not only did I quit my job and sorta' go to a Giant's game, but I also was able to hang out with Judd. Even though I was added as a "B-list" invite, it was cool. Too many people and too much fun. Because of such a long day I called it an early night, but enjoy the pictures!

So what's next for Big Al?

As of 3:15pm on 9/8/06, I am officially putting my tech career on hold. I'm off to seek new adventures, new opportunities and follow my dreams. Although I can't talk about my new "work". It's going to be a fun and exciting time. Over the next few months I'm going to be self-employed and living off of savings. My new job will take me to new places such as Houston, TX, the Philippine Islands, Malaysia & Bali. Hopefully I can find new opportunities in Fiji, Tonga, Thailand, Honduras & Guam (just to name a few).

My official unemployment started with cashing in my last paycheck at Washington Mutual, then a walk along the Embarcadero (where I saw the Burning Man statues), a snack at Gordon Biersch with Natalie and then a Randy Winn Bobblehead at AT&T Park where I casually entered the Single's Night area and practiced my "game".
